LA PICCIONAIA
The building was acquired in 2004 in a state of ruin. An upper-floor roof brick dated 1888 marks the original structure, while a ground-floor workshop and wine-press annex were added in 1898, as confirmed by the dated wine press. The property includes a pigeon tower with its original plaster and color, a brick oven, and a small well house. After restoration, the crociera and the upper floor were returned to use. Another annex now houses the artist’s atelier.
Renovation relied as much as possible on ecological, traditional materials, following the principles of ristauro conservativo. The alterations largely reinstated the original fabric that had been lost through or altered over time. Reflecting this approach, the ground-floor annex now serves as a summer studio, while the entire house is adorned with the artist’s paintings.
