My work is an ongoing investigation into the layers of perception, exploring the intersection of memory and material. Whether through the tactile nature of analog collage or the fluidity of digital media, each series seeks to deconstruct the environments we inhabit, translating the essence of a place into structural and atmospheric form
Recent works developed in the Abruzzo region. These pieces respond to the intensity of the Italian summer—shimmering heat, the freedom of open space, and found materials from the property. Incorporating elements from the immediate landscape into multi-layered oil media, the series translates the raw, tactile essence of the Mediterranean into studies of spatial tension.
Fragmented perspectives of the Los Angeles landscape.
Capturing the specific light and grit of the city, these works combine original stenciled imagery with street-inspired textures. Executed on raw cotton and linen, including large-scale formats up to 150 x 275 cm, the series explores the intersection of the urban grid and atmospheric memory.
An exploration of high-altitude landscapes. Using charcoal, wax, and lacquer on paper, this series balances the permanence of stone with the fragility of the environment. The works use a raw, elemental palette to investigate the shifting nature of mountain terrains and the tension between mass and atmosphere.
Exploring the intersection of the digital canvas and physical form. This series, including the Calilu project, utilizes digital collage and AR/VR technologies to extend the boundaries of traditional media. By layering textures, sound, and digital "serendipity," these works investigate how technology can translate complex emotional environments into immersive, textured compositions. They represent a playful yet rigorous inquiry into the "ever-evolving digital canvas."
Studies in tactile evolution and found fragments. In this series, the studio floor becomes a site of "murder and creation." Using scissors and adhesive to strip materials of their original context, these collages reassemble discarded fragments into new structural compositions that emphasize the physical act of intervention.
Moving image works focused on rhythm, texture, and the "vibe" of place. Moving beyond narrative, these video works function as visual experiments in tempo and atmosphere. By blending original cinematography with video graphics experimentation, the series captures the kinetic energy of the artist’s environments, translating the specific light of Los Angeles or the stillness of the Alps into time-based experiences.
